Why Intentional Community (IC)?
Some of us are genuinely concerned about the state of the world and what we are handing on to coming generations. We feel the materialistic culture, and racing to fill the world with as much concrete as possible, is not a worthy legacy to leave.

One key to turning development in a sustainable direction is the power of community. Together, with respect for the dignity of individuals and with kindness and love we can create a better life for ourselves on a lot less, treading lightly on the planet. Yet in practice we know little of how to work together. Nine of ten attempts at intentional community fail.
SL provides a “safe” environment to try out this other way of living.

What we want to achieve on our Island.
We want to try out living together in a simple way in a beautiful place. Second life allows us to focus on just the community aspect of sustainable development, leaving the technical side to other sims like the fantastic creation of our friends at Etopia.
